Randy has enjoyed watching his oldest daughter Madison march with the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps during their season. For students of music, and those who actively and continuously participate in its performance and development, it has an even deeper impact. This impact can be so profound that they will always remember the effect that music has had on them for the remainder of their lives.
Music should teach students to develop a basic, emotional, and creative understanding of music and art, teach them how to act and perform as professionals in the working world, allow them to feel proud of what they have accomplished and to challenge them on a daily basis to help them understand who they are and what truly inspires them. Henry Gillard is a Southern California-based percussion educator and arranger. Henry aspires to give top-tier instruction to all of his students, who he hopes will one day achieve their performance goals, as well as do his part to help evolve the marching activity to greater levels of achievement.
After performing in the marching band, winter guard, and theater program for four years, he went on to perform as a member of various organizations. In addition to teaching at the scholastic level, this will be John's third summer teaching a drum and bugle corps.
John is excited and looking forward to another great season with Vessel Drum and Bugle Corps. After graduating high school, he started to teach music and performed as a freelance musician.
Pedro decided to change his hp photosmart 5510 e-all-in-one series and focus on graphic design. Since then, Pedro has worked drum corps shows in california various marching bands, drum corps, and indoor ensembles, as well as organizations like the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade, Winter Guard International, and Southern California Percussion Alliance.
He loves the art and the impact he has been able to create for performers and groups from all over the world. Sammy has been involved with the marching arts since high school, where he was a saxophone player in the Ayala Band and Colorguard, and a visual ensemble, marching cymbal, and auxiliary percussionist in the Ayala Indoor Percussion and Ayala Concert Percussion programs.
Sammy took a few years to rest from the marching arts to start his college path at Mt. Sammy returned to the world of marching by performing with the Orange County Independent Winds Ensemble for two seasons, and the Royal Cavaliers Indoor Winds for one season.
Sammy hopes to one day be a sound designer or foley artist for film, television, or video games. Additionally, he would one day like to run his own indoor winds program in Southern California. Sammy is very happy to be working with Vessel Drum and Bugle Corps. At CSUF, Jake has participated in many of the performing ensembles and is currently seated as principle trombone for the Symphonic Winds. As a performer, his drum corps career started in at Gold Drum and Bugle Corpswhere he marched tuba before switching to lead baritone in Jake would then move on to became Head Drum Major and Principle Conductor for both the and seasons, where he aged out.
In his five years with the corps, Jake has had the pleasure of working with some of the biggest names and successful band directors from all over the state of California. As an educator, Jake currently leads a very active private studio and has instructed various levels of ensembles including both middle school and high school. Jake is very passionate about giving the best experience possible and is both eager and excited to share his knowledge with the members drum corps shows in california Vessel Drum and Bugle Corps this season.
With this, his mission has always been to bring out the very best in the members and bring forth a sense of pride and passion for the ensemble and the growth towards a brighter future for all who march.
Nick Quan is a composer and educator who currently resides in Corona, California. His previous teaching experience includes a variety of scholastic and independent programs across Southern California, as he is currently the front ensemble instructor for Glendora High School, Bonita High School, and Colony High School.
